SPIRAL MEANDER
Every single brushstroke has its own, specific characteristics:
form, length, thickness, consistency, texture, colour and transparency.
The brushstroke establishes a relation to other shapes on the canvas, to the background
and the surface it self.

MEANDER describes a twisted, bent, bowed and folded movement:
an uninterrupted line, repeating the same motive and therby creating a continuous waveform.
The name MEANDER refers to the winding, the twisting and turning path of the Meander River.

In this way the brushstroke creates the movement in the painting and forms the shapes.
The volume of the shapes is created by the same brushstroke.

Ever since the origin of art, man has used abstract and schematic forms and ornaments.
4 universal figures, which do exist in all human cultures are
LINE, CIRCLE, CROSS and SPIRAL.

The composition of the SPIRAL MEANDER paintings is characterized by specific repetition / imitation of a movement and a shape.
Or it can be seen, as a variation on a theme.
